There are new faces, new clinics, and new local events. Russell Run Club is represented on roads, trails, and even water. There is something for everyone this week.

If you have your eye on a fall race (like maybe our own Russell Run!), this is a great opportunity to get some support in reaching your goals.
Or perhaps you are thinking about starting to run or are dusting off the running shoes after some time off? The clinics are a great way to meet new people and ease into running so come join us!

Run Ottawa's 5/15km Farm Run
Congratulations to Jay Abramovitch and Norman Shippee who completed Run Ottawa's 5/15km Farm Run on July 17, 2024, in support of the Ottawa Hospital Foundation.
Norman finish in a time of 1:16:14
Despite some post-race blisters, Jay was happy with his time (1:41:45), and he is well on his way to completing the Army Run half marathon in September. Keep it up, Jay! We love following your progress.

Iron Man Lake Placid
Congratulations to Stephane Desjardins on his Ironman Finish at Lac Placid on July 21st. Here are the results:

Sara Mensour found motivation last weekend at the Le sentie de l'espoir trai race in Rigaud QC. Congratulation on your 20 km run.

NOTE: Walk Club, Trail Runs and Track workouts on pause for the summer
We meet at various times and locations throughout the week for a run, walk or workout.
If you are new to these events, please complete our waiver and select a two-week trial. We hope you enjoy it and meet our awesome members.
NOTE: For parkrun go to https://www.parkrun.ca/register/ to register. You only have to do it once. Remember to bring your barcode or put a snapshot of it on your phone
Group Runs
Run, walk, jog - all paces welcome.
Children and youth welcome. Those under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.
Multiple route options will be provided so that we can start and finish together. Group leaders will be available to support you in your run/walk/jog. We have a "no-drop" policy so nobody is left behind. Whatever your pace you should find someone to run/walk with.

Runs are between 30 and 45 minutes.
Note: Clinic are being run at the same time. But some of our members meet up for a run also.

New York Central Fitness Trail parkrun
A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it's up to you!
Open to all ages and abilities.

Anyone can participate. Each participant can proceed at his/her own pace.
Families can participate together. An adult must accompany children under 12 years of age.
Route: Approximately 20 -30 minute out and back on New York Central Fitness Trail (i.e bike path)

45th Annual Great Raisin River Footrace

Lace up your sneakers and embark on an out-and-back 5K or 11K loop along backcountry roads that embrace the scenic beauty of the Raisin River. Then, get the whole family involved by taking part in the 150m Kids Fun Run.

Run The Farm 5km

Run the Farm is a family-friendly walk/run through the fields of the Avonmore Berry Farm. The event raises money for the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
