Bowling for Love

Tara Quesnel-Paul and Karen Telford put together a bowling night on Valentine's Day. Club members along with their families took over 4 lanes in Embrun for a super fun bowling evening complete with food and Valentine's themed decorations.

Thank you to Tara and Karen for organizing such a great event.

Michelle Hits the Jackpot in Vegas

Perhaps when Michelle Leduc posted on the club's Facebook page that she was looking for people to support her "Last Super Long Run" of 5hrs you got the hint that she has been in training for more epic races. This time the training really paid off.

On Saturday, February 21st, Michelle was the first female, 2nd overall, to finish the Jackpot Ultra 100 miler in Las Vegas, NV (18:43:44). Imagine training for a desert race through the winter we've had! After a tough 2025, it was the win Michelle needed.

Club member, Shiloh Gillard, accompanied Michelle to the race crewing and pacing through the toughest parts of the event.

Congratulations Michelle on an impressive start to your 2026 race season and kudos to Shiloh for her taking on the challenging role of crew and pacer. We're confident Michelle has more in store for 2026 and we look forward to cheering her on.

What Was the Russell Run Club Up to This Month?

Here are some successes, challenges and just good vibes:

"Long run yesterday. Frozen Sole this morning and forty-miles for the week. All is good."

~Wendell L.

"Russell Run Club representing in Mexico. Trying to stay consistent here, 5k a day will have to do! I was skating on the canal last week at -26 and now applying sunscreen every 30mins. Sunburn is way better than frostbite!"

~Crystal M.

"Running truly is therapy this week…some good runs and some less than stellar but fresh air is always good!"

~Erika D.

"Just back from a 9 km easy run and 8.5 snowshoeing race yesterday ! Enough for a weekend!"

~Maurice B.

"Our week was great! Dog trail trots, dome runs, and yes to a great morning's snowshoe race. I am hooked now on winter trail running in a variety of ways."

~Clair S.

"Made it to the group run this am and Friday at the dome before the sun came up. Needed the accountability."

~Amy V.
