Michelle Crushes LAVS 2026

Many club members were glued to the Last Annual Vol State Road Race website every 12 hours during the 2nd week of July to see how our club president, Michelle Leduc, was faring.

For those who are not familiar with the event, it's a 314 mile race across the state of Tennessee, completely unsupported, except for a few local 'road angels' providing impromptu aid along the way.

This was Michelle's 3rd time tackling the event and this year, she had BIG goals which she crushed. Despite the inumeralbe challenges that this race brings (heat, thunderstorms, and virtually no sleep, to name a few), Michelle finished the event, first female, second overall and in a personal record time of 4days, 14hrs, 17minutes and 29 seconds. Truly amazing. Photos captured by the race organizers show the highs and sheer exhaustion that such an event brings. In Michelle's own words: "I gave it my all. Nothing left in the tank..."

She wrote about this years journey here: https://littleduker.ca/thegiftofvolstate/

Congratulations Michelle on demonstrating true grit and determination for the aspiring ultra distance athletes in the club.

La Baie Run 2026

Despite getting postponed by a day due to rain, a few club members still managed to toe the line on Sunday, July 19th for the 8th annual La Baie Run in support of the Hawkesbury Hospital Foundation and Hawkesbury Roadrunners Athletic Club.

Congratulations to the following runners who completed the Half Marathon race:

Maurice Bonneville 1:56:25

Paul Lalonde 2:09:50

Sebastien Gareau 2:30:53
